Itinerary

DAY 1: MARRAKECH ---> HIGH ATLAS ---> AIT BEN HADDOU ---> DADES VALLEY
Begin your 3-day Marrakech desert tour with an 8:00 a.m. pickup from your riad or wherever you're staying in Marrakech. We'll leave the city and cross the High Atlas Mountains, reaching a high point called the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which rises to 2,260 meters (7,415 feet). We'll stop to see charming Berber villages along the way.
We'll then visit the famous Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village known for its unique Moroccan architecture. Many famous films have been filmed here, including "Kingdom of Heaven" in 2005, "Babel" in 2006, "Prince of Persia" in 2010, "Game of Thrones" in 2012, and the recent documentary "David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet" in 2020. You'll have plenty of time to explore this historic Kasbah.
After a delicious lunch, we'll head south along the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" to the Dades Valley, passing through places like Ouarzazate, Skoura, and the Valley of Roses in Kalaat M'Gouna. When we reach the Dades Valley in the afternoon, we'll take you to see the impressive rock formations known as "Monkey Fingers" if we have enough time. Otherwise, we'll visit this unique site the next day. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel of your choice.

DAY 2: DADES VALLEY ---> TINGHIR OASIS ---> TODRA GORGE ---- MERZOUGA DESERT
We will begin the second day of your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with a delicious breakfast. We will then head to Tineghir, stopping at a picturesque spot overlooking charming Berber villages and a palm oasis. Nearby is a 300-meter-high canyon known as the Toudgha Gorge. We will hike beneath this deep canyon before continuing to the Merzouga Desert.
Arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon, you will begin a camel trek through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. During this hike, you'll stop on a high dune to admire a breathtaking sunset over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Then, you'll continue by camel to the camp, where you'll be warmly welcomed with a cup of tea. You'll have free time to relax. After a delicious Moroccan dinner, you'll sit around a campfire with Berber friends who will play drums and share stories under the starry sky. You'll spend the night in a luxury desert camp of your choice.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT ---> DRAA RIVER --> OUARZAZATE ---→ MARRAKECH
Today, we highly recommend getting up early to admire a breathtaking sunrise from the high dune closest to the camp. After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you can return to the town of Merzouga by camel or in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. From there, we'll return to Marrakech, but this time we'll take a different route along the Draa River, which happens to be Morocco's longest river, stretching over 1,100 kilometers.
Feel free to ask your driver to make stops whenever you like. We'll stop for lunch in Ouarzazate and head to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains. Finally, we'll drop you off at your accommodation, marking the end of this 3-day desert tour from Marrakech.
